End of the School Year with After-School

The after-school program wrapped up this week with creative arts, poetry, and dance. We had some parents join us for the celebration. We are so proud of the kids and their improvements this school year. It is so great to have the parents involved! We look forward to our summer programs that will begin in June.

Crooked Creek Ranch/Son City Kids

A little delay slowed the start of the visit to Cindy and Fred Sandline's Crooked Creek Ranch. This is one of the most enjoyed events of the year for Son City Kids and this year was no exception. The kids got opportunity to ride horses, have donkey races, wagon rides, break pinatas, eat grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and other activities. They had an awesome, fun filled day. We were all impressed how well the group behaved. The volunteers enjoyed themselves along with the kids. A number of new volunteers step up to help. We look forward to their return next month at the carnival. A huge thanks to our leaders Mayra and Ken. Without their organiztion of this event the fun factor would not have been near as high for the kids or volunteers. Son City Kids Sports

This winter some of the neighborhood boys were able to do a basketball camp with Coach Ryan and Coach Kevin. They met each Monday to learn drills, work as a team and improve on their skills. At the end of the camp, a banquet was held to honor the boys with great food and trophies. They were able to celebrate their accomplishments and be recognized for their hard work.
